In designing the Tronco Chair for Mattiazzi, Sam Hecht and Kim Colin embraced the challenge of creating a stackable solid wood chair. Then they went a step further, considering the chair itself as part of a system. Not only does Tronco stack up to 5-high, but its strong presence translates well even in spaces where large number of chairs are joined together in rows.
"It has to be comfortable, not just at the eye but also to the body and the hand and the way you sit in it."
